1. Who gives this warranty
Simpled Tech Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 13391034, office 2 Eastbourne Terrace, London, W2 6LG, United Kingdom ("Simpled"). Contact: support@simpled.tech. There is no separate US entity; Simpled Tech Limited is the warrantor.
2. What is covered and for how long
Simpled warrants to the original purchaser that new Simpled smart locks, smart handles and Simpled-branded accessories bought from simpled.tech or an authorized Simpled reseller will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use, in accordance with the product documentation, for twenty-four (24) months from the date of delivery (the "Warranty Period"). This warranty is in addition to any statutory rights you have that cannot be waived under your state's law.
Consumable batteries supplied with a product are covered for defects on arrival only; normal battery depletion is not a defect.
Software and firmware are licensed under our Website & App Terms, not sold, and are covered by their own terms.
This is separate from our voluntary 60-day money-back guarantee. Our Returns, Refunds & Cancellation page offers a separate 60-day money-back guarantee (satisfaction-based) that is in addition to this Limited Warranty. The two are independent.
3. What Simpled will do
If a covered defect appears during the Warranty Period and you make a valid claim, Simpled will, at its option: repair the product (using new or reconditioned parts), replace it (with the same or a functionally equivalent model, new or reconditioned), or refund the purchase price. A repaired or replacement product is warranted for the remainder of the original Warranty Period or 90 days from delivery of the repaired/replacement product, whichever is longer. This repair/replace/refund remedy is your exclusive remedy under this Limited Warranty, subject to the non-waivable rights preserved in §9. Where a claim is valid, we cover reasonable return shipping.
4. How to claim
Contact support@simpled.tech with your order number or proof of purchase, the product model and serial number, a description of the issue and, if possible, photos or video. Our team will run remote diagnostics with you first — many issues are resolved by settings, updates or battery replacement. If a return is needed we will provide instructions and a return reference. Before returning, deregister the device from your app account and factory-reset it where the fault allows.
5. What is not covered
This Limited Warranty does not cover:
- (a) normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage that does not affect function, and weathering consistent with the product's stated environmental rating;
- (b) damage from accident, abuse, misuse, liquid ingress beyond the stated rating, fire, or an act of nature;
- (c) defects or damage caused by installation or door preparation not in accordance with our instructions, use on an incompatible or badly-fitted door, or failure to maintain the product (including battery replacement and cleaning per the manual). Where you engage an independently-selected third-party installer, that installer acts under their own contract with you, and damage caused by that installer is not covered by this Limited Warranty;
- (d) damage caused by third-party accessories, parts or power sources not suitable for the product, or by leaking batteries (this is a causation/maintenance limitation — see §6);
- (e) damage or failure caused by an unauthorized repair, modification, alteration or an incompatible third-party component, or a product whose serial number has been altered or removed. Use of an independent installer, repairer or third-party component does not by itself void this Limited Warranty — only damage or failure actually caused by such repair, modification or component is excluded, consistent with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act's anti-tying rule;
- (f) attempted or actual burglary, forced entry, vandalism or theft — this is a product warranty, not an insurance policy;
- (g) faults caused by your network, mobile device, third-party services or platforms, or by refusal or failure to install available updates;
- (h) products bought from unauthorized sellers. Coverage is excluded only where use exceeds the product's stated duty cycle, environmental rating or documented operating conditions. Where a product is bought and used for business or commercial purposes, our separate Business & Commercial Terms set the applicable warranty scope;
- (i) consequential costs such as locksmith fees or alternative accommodation (subject to §8 and §9).
6. No anti-tying / branded-parts requirement
This warranty is not conditioned on using only Simpled-branded batteries, accessories, parts or service. You may use suitable third-party batteries and accessories; §5(d) excludes only damage actually caused by unsuitable parts or power sources, consistent with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act's anti-tying rule.
7. Smart-lock specific conditions
Electronic locks depend on battery power and correct configuration. Heed low-battery warnings and maintain a backup entry method as described in the manual. Lockouts and access failures caused by depleted batteries, lost backup keys, deleted or misconfigured credentials, or connectivity outages are not product defects.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and except for the express warranty above, Simpled disclaims all other express warranties, and limits any implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) to the duration of the Warranty Period.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Simpled is not liable for incidental, consequential, special, indirect or punitive damages, including lost profits, property loss, cost of substitute goods, or locksmith / alternative-accommodation / lost-time costs, arising out of or relating to the product.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence, for fraud, or under applicable product-liability law.
9. State-law rights and savings clauses
SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, so the limitation in §8 may not apply to you.
SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, so the limitation or exclusion in §8 may not apply to you.
In states that do not permit sellers to disclaim or limit implied warranties in consumer sales (which include, for example, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, the District of Columbia, West Virginia, Mississippi, Kansas, Washington, and California under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act), we do not disclaim or limit your implied warranties, and this Limited Warranty is given in addition to those non-waivable rights.
THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.
10. Who may claim; transfer
This Limited Warranty is given to the original purchaser and is not transferable on resale of the product. It applies to products delivered to addresses in the United States.
11. Pre-sale availability
This Limited Warranty is made available to you before purchase — it is linked from each product page and from checkout, and the full text can be read as this single document. You may also obtain the full text free of charge by request — email support@simpled.tech or write to the address in §1, and we will provide it.
12. Governing law
This Limited Warranty is governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable US federal warranty law (the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act), subject to the non-waivable rights of your state of residence preserved in §9.
