IMPORTANT — YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS COME FIRST. This Limited Warranty is a voluntary commercial guarantee from Simpled Tech Limited. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and EU law, you have legal rights against the seller, free of charge, where goods are not in conformity with the contract — including the right to repair, replacement, price reduction or refund — and those rights are NOT affected by this guarantee. You may rely on your legal rights, this guarantee, or both — whichever is better for you. See our Returns, Refunds & Cancellation page for your statutory rights.
1. Who gives this guarantee
Simpled Tech Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 13391034, registered office 2 Eastbourne Terrace, London, W2 6LG, United Kingdom ("Simpled"). Contact: support@simpled.tech / +44 (0)20 7096 0094.
2. What is covered and for how long
2.1 Simpled guarantees that new Simpled smart locks, smart handles and Simpled-branded accessories purchased from this store or an authorised Simpled reseller will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal domestic use, in accordance with the product documentation, for 24 months from the date of delivery to the original purchaser (the "Guarantee Period"). This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights.
2.2 Consumable batteries supplied with a product are covered for defects on arrival only; normal battery depletion is not a defect.
2.3 Software and firmware are licensed under our Website & App Terms. Independently of this guarantee, we supply the updates (including security updates) required by the Consumer Rights Act 2022 to keep goods with digital elements in conformity for the period you can reasonably expect.
2.4 Refurbished products: we do not currently sell refurbished stock. If refurbished products are offered in future, the guarantee period and terms applying to them will be stated on the product page at the time of sale and may differ from this guarantee.
3. What we will do
If a covered defect appears during the Guarantee Period and you make a valid claim, Simpled will, at its option: repair the product (using new or reconditioned parts), replace it (same or functionally equivalent model, new or reconditioned), or refund the purchase price. Repaired or replacement products are guaranteed for the remainder of the original Guarantee Period or 90 days from delivery of the repaired/replacement product, whichever is longer. Where a claim is valid, we cover the reasonable cost of return shipping and any customs formalities.
4. What is not covered
This guarantee does not cover:
- (a) normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage that does not affect function, and weathering consistent with the product's stated environmental rating;
- (b) damage from accident, abuse, misuse, liquid ingress beyond the stated rating, fire, or force of nature;
- (c) defects or damage caused by installation or door preparation not in accordance with our instructions, use on an incompatible or badly fitted door, or failure to maintain the product (including battery replacement and cleaning per the manual). This exclusion applies where you install the product yourself, or where you independently appoint your own installer or repairer. Where installation is sold or provided by Simpled, that installation is Simpled's responsibility and is governed by our separate Installation Service Terms — this exclusion does not shift responsibility for that installation's quality onto you;
- (d) damage caused by third-party accessories, parts or power sources not approved by Simpled, or by leaking batteries;
- (e) damage or failure caused by an unauthorised repair, modification, alteration or an incompatible third-party component; or a product whose serial number has been altered or removed. Using an independent installer, repairer or third-party component does not by itself void this guarantee — only damage or failure actually caused by such repair, modification or component is excluded. Nothing in this exclusion affects your statutory rights;
- (f) attempted or actual burglary, forced entry, vandalism or theft — this guarantee is a product guarantee, not an insurance policy;
- (g) faults caused by your network, mobile device, third-party services or platforms, or by refusal or failure to install available updates;
- (h) products purchased from unauthorised sellers. This guarantee is not excluded merely because a product is used in a rental, short-let, hotel, landlord or property-management setting, where that use is consistent with the product's stated use case. Coverage is excluded only where use exceeds the product's stated duty cycle, environmental rating or documented operating conditions;
- (i) consequential costs such as locksmith fees or alternative accommodation (without limiting §8 or your statutory rights).
5. Smart-lock specific conditions
Electronic locks depend on battery power and correct configuration. Heed low-battery warnings and maintain a backup entry method as described in the manual. Lockouts and access failures caused by depleted batteries, lost backup keys, deleted or misconfigured credentials, or connectivity outages are not product defects.
6. How to claim
Email support@simpled.tech with your order number or proof of purchase, the product model and serial number, a description of the issue and, if possible, photos or video. Our team will run remote diagnostics with you first — many issues are resolved by settings, updates or battery replacement. If a return is needed we will give you instructions, a returns reference and any customs paperwork. Before returning, deregister the device from your app account and factory-reset it where the fault allows.
7. Territory and transfer
This guarantee applies to products delivered to addresses in Ireland (and, for any supported international destination, as stated at the point of sale) and is given to the original purchaser; it is not transferable on resale of the product.
8. Limitations
Nothing in this guarantee excludes or limits Simpled's liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for defective products under the Liability for Defective Products Act 1991 (or successor EU rules), or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — and nothing in it limits your statutory rights, which apply alongside and independently of this guarantee.
9. Governing law
This guarantee is governed by the law of Ireland.
